Comments: Great review of "Fargo" which I really enjoyed and wanted to
know if anybody else did. My better half didn't like it at all and thought I
was wierd because I did. Too much violence for her I guess. Well now I know
that I'm not alone. Thanks

Comments: I was looking for a synopsis of the film so I could link to
it. I use my home page to communicate with friends in Massachusetts (I am in
Chicago). I recently saw this film in Chicago at the Petrillo Music Shell,
outdoor in Grant Park. The score was played live by the Grant Park Symphony
Orchestra, David Lockington conducting. The live music added significantly to
this fine film. thank you for the fine synopsis.

Comments: Generally great but ... How about a search facility ? How
about a film suggestions area ? (I know it's your personal lists but you may
have missed some good ones). You've only reviewed one Powell & Pressburger film
"The Red Shoes". As the GREATEST British movie makers (IMHO) how about adding:
A Matter of Life and Death (1946) (aka Stairway to Heaven)
The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943)
I Know Where I'm Going (1945)
A Canterbury Tale (1944)
Black Narcissus (1947)
Forty-Ninth Parallel (1941) (aka The Invaders)
The Edge of The World (1937)
The Tales of Hoffmann (1951)
Peeping Tom (1960)
The Small Back Room (1949)
The Battle of The River Plate (1956)
Ill Met by Moonlight (1956)
The Silver Fleet (1943)
One of Our Aircraft is Missing (1942)
to name but a few. They are often quoted by Martin Scorsese as a major
influence on his love of movies (if you really need a recommendation).
All the best Steve

Also I have this really sad mate whose University course consists entirely of
either reading reviews of movies or spending entire afternoons hogging the
video watching films. He will wet his pants with glee when I tell him how to
get here. Do you know what, he even watches the credits to a film and doesn't
leave until even the projectionist(?) has left the building. Sad eh!!

Comments: Glad to find this. We own this film at the Public Library and
have had a complaint that it was too erotic. The director asked for additional
information about the film. Would like more reviews and feedback. But do you
have to use a black background. I would really like to print off your review.

movie title in the alphabetical listing so I don't have to link to the review
to see the rating (if I'm looking for a good movie to rent, I don't want to
take time reading a review of a two star movie)

Comments: I think that your feelings and opinions toward the films that
you review are a prime example of your ignorance towards the founding fathers of
modern cinema. I particularly want to express my dissagreement with your rating
on the Battleship Potemkin. To say that films like this cannot be watched or
studied with modern sensibilities is pure hypocracy. For without a film like
Battleship Potemkin, which is in it self responsible for groundbreaking
cinematic techniques, we would not have our modern sensibilities to begin with.
This film is noted for its achievement in montage, and its cinemagraphic
splendor. The battleship Potemkin by Sergei Eisenstein is one of the most
perfect and concise examples of film structure in the history of cinema. And for
you to give this film only 4 out of five stars, and putting Pulp Fiction's
rating above it is simply outlandish, and frankly your cinematic expertise is
comparative to a four year old Disney lover.

Comments: Hello. I stumbled across your site while searching for a
review of "Angels & Insects" -- a lady friend of mine wants to see it -- and I
like it very much. I'm glad to see you offer reviews of older films as well as
the latest blockbusters; and I am in almost complete agreement with your review
of "Radio Days." I would have given it five stars; I am a big Woody Allen fan.
Anyway, I will tell others about your site and I'll check back for
more movie reviews. Thanks.
